Collaboration around contracts and invoices often happens across emails, spreadsheets, and internal notes. To simplify this, the Communications Module has now been enabled for both Sea Contract uploads and Customer Invoices, bringing all conversations into one unified place.
Sea Contracts: built-in collaboration
For sea contracts, the communications module makes it easy for:
- Contract managers
- Pricing teams
- Data entry and operations
to communicate directly on the contract itself.
This means:
- Notes and discussions stay attached to the contract
- Decisions are documented and searchable
- Fewer side emails and lost context
Customer Invoices: internal notes and customer dialogue
For customer invoices, the module supports two critical use cases:
- Internal notes for finance and operations teams
- Direct communication with customers via the online portal, tied to a specific invoice
This allows freight forwarders to handle invoice questions, clarifications, or disputes directly where the invoice lives — with full visibility for all stakeholders.
One module, many use cases
The communications module is a unified, entity-based communication system:
- Each thread is linked to a specific entity (e.g. sea contract or invoice)
- Works as asynchronous messaging
- Automatically switches to live chat when multiple users are online
The result is faster resolution, better documentation, and clearer collaboration, all without leaving the platform.
